Infrastructure documentation as code

Version-controlled Markdown, BookStack publishing, and recovery playbooks that turn build history and troubleshooting into reusable operating procedures.

Objective

Create detailed infrastructure documentation that records how systems were built, the commands used, problems encountered, verified resolutions, and recovery dependencies.

Publishing workflow

Organized Markdown in Git and published it into the Home Infrastructure shelf in BookStack. The workflow brings the reviewable change history of GitOps to operational documentation.

Duplicate page headings were corrected in the publisher so the BookStack page title and Markdown heading do not repeat.

Coverage and recovery

  • Hyper-V architecture, hosts, networking, VM lifecycle, TPM, troubleshooting, and recovery.
  • Active Directory, PKI, Exchange, SCCM, and Windows Server procedures.
  • Kubernetes control planes, kube-vip, Longhorn, GitOps, applications, monitoring, and backups.
  • Provisioning automation, C# design notes, and command-level problem-and-resolution records.
  • Retired VMware and OpenStack history retained for reference.

Evidence and ongoing work

Initial Hyper-V pages were published successfully. The broader archive and command-level reconstruction continues through reconciliation and coverage review. Documentation distinguishes observed outcomes, historical configuration, and pending validation rather than implying every recovery procedure has been tested.
